This year marks the Juno Awards’ 40th anniversary and to celebrate this momentous occasion the ceremony comes back to its city of origin, Toronto! Only a few years ago, TRIUMPH was inducted into the Canadian Music Industry Hall of Fame at the Juno Awards Ceremony. This year, Rik Emmett is gracing the awards with his rockin’ presence again!

Beginning in December, artists from the 70s through to the new millennium will be featured on a Saturday of each month at the Horseshoe Tavern as part of the JUNO Decades concert series. TRIUMPH’s own Rik Emmett is one of the confirmed artists performing on January 8th, 2011 for the Songs of the 80s show at the Horseshoe Tavern. For those of you who have seen the legendary guitarist perform, you know this concert will be a perfect way to welcome the New Year.

The Juno Decades concert series has already held a show celebrating hit artists from the 70s. The series continues with the 80s show on January 8th, moves forward to the 90s on February 5th and finally showcases the stars of the last decade on March 5th just a few weeks before the official ceremony is held in Toronto’s Air Canada Center.

This is a charitable event and tickets are only twenty dollars, so be sure to catch your favorite 80’s musicians, reminisce with friends of those days and make a difference! MusiCounts is a charity keeping music alive in our youth regardless of socioeconomic circumstances.
