Finally got me some Tesla today! I have Mechanical Resonance on cassette but I needed a cd to get it onto my computer...
Ended up getting Mechanical Resonance and Psychotic Supper, PS because I had to have (Man Out of Time) Edison's Medicine. Tesla is just solid. Like pretty much everything I've heard by them.
I've been on a bit of a Ronnie Dio binge too, last week I got Rising by Rainbow and today I got Heaven and Hell by Sabbath. RJD IMO is 'the' voice of metal. I guess some could say Halford but...Ronnie has a huge voice and he also is a good songwriter.

I could probably listen to everything Ronnie's done and like it. Have you heard his cover of Dream On with Yngwie? I think there's a youtube video of it where they peiced together Ronnie and Yngwie clips because the two did it together but the recording was done separtely so there was no actual live footage of it.
Oh, and thanks to the recommendation of chordguy I've been listening to Steve Stevens album Atomic Playboys a ton lately.
Just picked up some new stuff today!
Steve Stevens-Memory Crash...awesome instrumental album. Steve is VERY good but never gets mentioned. I've mentioned it before, but I think Billy Idol ended up hiding his talent a little bit. The man has some serious chops and composes very well.
Vinnie Vincent Invasion-Vinnie Vincent Invasion...fun album, lots of solos, high pitched vocals. My kinda thing haha. Been looking for some VVI for a while. This is the one before Mark Slaughter took over on vocals. I actually like this version of VVI more because its more fast paced. I wouldn't say most of the solo's are great, many seem out of tune and key but I dont know because I'm no music expert. But his tone is fun and its not an album I'm going to sit back and try to get anything from...just one of those party metal albums!

I saw Alice Cooper tonight...WAY better than I expected. Both guys had some chops on guitar and there were solos all over the place. One of the guitarists was quite a bit better than the other, at least from what was displayed at the concert. His name is Keri Kelli, guy had some sick licks...both had very good tones and 'crunch' on the rythmn tones. It was way way heavier than Alice's studio recordings, and because Alice never really reached back for the super highs his voice sounded great yet.
It was a great show, and there were really no problems with the sound. It was a small amphitheater and they had everything figured out, no one instrument was drowning out others and you could hear the vocals clearly. The only thing that was bad about it was because of what happened on my end...I'm not a huge AC fan so I didnt know quite a few songs making it harder to get into, but all the smoking solos made those tunes good. It was almost like a concept show throughout the middle of it because they had a little story it seemed like they were telling with props and such. I kinda felt like I was at a Queensryche Operation:Mindcrime show or something.
I was disappointed they didnt do Loves A Loaded Gun because that might be my favorite Coop tune, and they didnt do Hey Stoopid...but whatever, everything was great about it and I would have loved it more had I listened to more AC. I enjoyed the live stuff more because it was heavier...
Terry Ilous of XYZ still has the pipes!
JK Northrup is decent on guitar, I'm sure the quality makes it sound a little worse too. He's not as good as Marc Diglio though.
