Man, I have been listening to a lot of music lately. There is some great talent breaking out in Western Canada.

If you want to hear the next great guitar player (Rising Force you will like this guy) try out The Heck. They are signed and out of Abbotsford, BC here. The Heck Tunes Try out Black Tags or Sin when you get to this site. The scary part about this band, that has brought back good honest rock songs, and yes, amazing guitar solos in every song, is that the average age of the band members is 17.5 years old. they sound like they have been doing this for years, and write music that is beyond their years. Let me know what you think!!

I always have Stevie Ray Vaughan, Kenny Wayne Sheppard and Colin James on tap (gotta have my blues fix!).

    Dave...

You ought to check out Alligator Records and Blind Pig Records for some great blues! Aside from SRV and KWS that is.

Also check out King Biscuit Time!

CD Baby has an interesting blues selection also.

No I haven't, but I do have a couple of Gary Moore discs one of them his live show (which is awesome). What I do have is a recording of a show that used to be on in Canada called "In Session", and it's the show of Stevie Ray and Albert King and that is a prised piece for me and my wife. We do have everything that has been released on DVD or CD by Stevie (or his family). I miss him very much. sad.gif

Re: What Band/Artist do you Currently Listen Too?

well drew wanted me to tell everyone what else i listen to in this forum..so here i am lol, i think my favorite band right now is reo speedwagon...i got to see them in concert this last summer and they rocked!!!, triumph is probably a close 2nd....all of their stuff i've heard is great, well it really appeals to me other people have different opinions, but i listen to a lot of bands that most kids that are 17 have never heard of, like t-rex's get it on(bang a gong)---that song i love, or red rider's lunatic fringe...no kids i know have heard of red rider, let alone that tom cochrane was the lead singer for that band, i wish i could hear more april wine stuff...its never on the radio and i havent seen a cd by them, head east is great...i like the popular bands from that time too, like rush and boston and all that great stuff, but the ones that arent known by many seem to be the ones i like the most, not sure why....aldo nova i like...i just kinda feel dumb when i say some of this, i havent been able to hear any of the songs by some of these bands that havent made the radio..the only aldo nova song i've heard is fantasy, and i think its great, i just cant get a hold of any of their other stuff, its really hard to find and i dont have a whole lot of money to buy it, hmm what other bands from canada do i like, oh BTO has some good stuff, blood sweat and tears is good, and im sure theres more i just can't think of them right now..oh, the guess who..gotta get them in there, the five man electrical band..signs---great song, mmm i donno im out of them right now, but canadian bands from the 70's and 80's seem to really rock, i keep reading stuff about triumph everyday because i like learning about them, then i know stuff other people dont...but i like a lot of the music thats not well known along with all the big named bands like the rolling stones and led zepplin(not all of their stuff is appealing to me, everything they threw out was a hit at one point and i dont think some of it is very good), but they have some good stuff...and theres you're answer drew, hope that helped you figure out some of what i listen to
Can't you feel the magic, feel it everywhere, Can't you hear the music, there's something in the air, There's a celebration, deep within a song, Celebrate this feeling, you know it can't be wrong

If i ask "whats your favorite band" I get the list from everyone and its done.

However if I use "currently" you can keep coming back an update on whats hot with you now. I like to do this because I may be reminded of a band or tune I have forgotten about or a may hear something brand new that I may enjoy. I do try and track down samples of stuff folks mention if it sounds like it may be interesting.

Either way its all good and thanks for posting.

Wow! It's great to hear from others who actually know who Queensryche is! I'm probably one of their youngest/die-hard fans... I'm 16 years old, and my first concert was Queensryche... Luckily, they're from Seattle, and I live in Tacoma, so I see them a lot... I just recently saw them with Judas Priest, and I tell ya, it was a night to remember... Queensryche played tons of stuff that I loved, but never thought they'd play! Like "Neue Regel", "The Whisper", "En Force", "NM 156", "Nightrider", and "Surgical Strike"! If you loved "The Warning" or "Rage for Order" than it was the show for you, hehe... And Judas Priest played nothing but their best... It was great!
