Nice, Lindsay, but too pretty to be a real dog. biggrin.gif
    I prefer big slobbery dogs.

Nice dog Lindsay. Question ... how's his temperment? I've heard from others that Sheltie's can be a bit difficult, especially with young children and this has turned me off to getting one ...

My dog's name is Sonny and like most Shelties he's got a bit of a snobby temperment. Sometimes he likes people and will let them pet him and other times he'll shy away or hide from people who try to touch him.

This attitude extends to kids. Some kids he really likes so he'll let them pet him and play with him. But with other kids, he'll run away from them.

While quite smart & easy to train, I don't really picture Shelties as a little kids' dog because they are just not a friendly enough breed. Also, with kids you want a dog you can get kind of rough & dirty with and trust me, it's no fun when Sonny gets muddy; he has a lot of fur to clean!

    Re: Lindsay's dog

This site has changed me a lot...its weird in a way, but I haven't ever had a pet, mostly because my mom is allergic to everything, for the most part. After seeing all of the pets and hearing some people's stories on here, I really do want a pet of some sort, cat/dog/hamster for all I care lol. I didn't really care if I had a pet or not though-before. Just like hearing and seeing Rik play guitar, then hear about people here playing guitar/drums/bass guitar, that has put a slight urge in me to play an instrument, I dont think I will thought, at least not now, baseball season is about to start and I wont have any time for it, plus I have no money to buy anything at the moment either. I know I've said it before, but thanks everyone! the Triumph community has definatly opened my eyes to things that I didnt know or care for before-its a great feeling.

Sheez, Knetzke ... what? ... do you purposely wait until I'm in a bad mood to post your goopy thanks ... you did this last time the cat was unleasing lead in the site, which if I recall resulted in a smartaleky response from me. wink.gif Because this is Lindsay's thread I shall refrain from any sarcastic comments ... but I owe you one.

By the way Lindsay, your response to my question is similar to what I've heard from others ... oh well, no Shelties will be running around SNASL's house anytime soon ... guess we're sticking with cats only ...

Oh no, you've discovered my secret, I secretly have been plotting against you to release my thanks to everyone on this site at the very times that you-SNASL are in a bad mood lol

    Re: Lindsay's dog

I think when I go into physical therapy(not rehabing for anything just go there for their weight lifting program) but a lady brought a dog in like him, but one of his legs was crippled so he had to hobble around on 3, but he was a really nice dog, let me pet him and everything, I think his name was Buddie

Hey ... were we at the same P.T. knetzke? I think I talked to the same lady ... she told me that she had found the Sheltie she had with her ... also named Buddie ... what a coincidence ... outside of a restaurant one day as she was leaving .... I believe she said it was an International House of Pancakes .... you know .... an IHOP ....

[Really sorry Lindsay sad.gif I promise I will try to better restrain myself in your threads. wink.gif ...]
